Summertime in Gilbert is HOT! But there are a ton of outdoor activities to keep you cool. Here are four of our favorites:
Take an Early Morning Walk at The Riparian Preserve
One of the best ways to beat the heat is to get up and out early in the morning. If you love a relaxing morning walk with beautiful scenery, then there’s no better place to do it than The Riparian Preserve. This oasis in the desert is a great place to take a peaceful stroll through the trails, watch the wildlife, and enjoy the cool(er) morning air.
Kayak or Canoe Down the Salt River
Another great way to cool off and enjoy the outdoors is to go for a trip down the cool Salt River. You can rent a canoe or kayak from one of the many outfitters in the area and paddle your way down the scenic river. Make sure to pack plenty of sunscreen and water, and you’ll be all set for some summer fun out on the river. Keep your eyes peeled for the majestic wild mustangs!
Visit a Gilbert Public Pool
Looking for a more traditional way to cool off this summer? Then grab your favorite swimsuit and head to one of Gilbert’s public pools! Most of these pools are open from Memorial Day weekend through the end of July, so you can take a dip anytime between now and then. See each pool’s website for details:
Cool Off at the Splash Pad at Water Tower Plaza
If you’re looking for a fun activity for the whole family, head to Water Tower Plaza for some splash pad fun! There are various water features to enjoy and plenty of shady areas to relax in. It’s also the perfect place for a picnic, so pack a lunch and enjoy a day out in the sun. The Plaza is also dog-friendly, so your furry friend can join in on the fun too!
