What Brought Them to Thrive
In 2020, I left my job to pursue writing full-time. I worked from home in 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic, but after a lifetime of working in an office, found I missed (and needed) the structure of going into “a job” every day. I live in Gilbert and drove past Thrive all the time. Finally decided to check it out.
Experience at Thrive
I love it. I feel like I’m validating myself every time I walk in the door.
Staying on Track with Work
Unless I’m teaching in a semester, I don’t have set hours. Going into Thrive helps me maintain a writing routine. I need to feel like I’m going to work.

You have to choose your own definition of success. Money is necessary, and good vibes don’t pay the bills, but when you are pursuing your art and passion, you can’t measure your success on what you earn. My essays are about my experiences with death and grief during a very specific moment in my life, and I’ve found a lot of connection within the grief community because of my writing.
