Mark your calendars! With Spring in full bloom, Gilbert has a number of community events throughout the month of April. Whether you’re a newcomer or a long-time resident, engaging in community events is an excellent way to get to know your neighbors, discover hidden gems, and try out new activities with the family.
Here’s what Gilbert has in store for this month:
Saturday, April 6
Gilbert Global Village Festival
Time: 9:00am – 2:00pm
Location: Gilbert Civic Center Lawn, 50 E Civic Center Drive
Cost: free
The Gilbert Global Village Festival will take place on April 6th on the Gilbert Civic Center Lawn at 50 E Civic Center Drive. (Gilbert Road and Warner Road.)
This is a free multicultural celebration for all ages. The festival celebrates the cultural diversity of our community.
Gilbert is focused on creating a safe and respectful environment where authentic connections thrive, opinions are equally valued, allyship is encouraged, and differences are shared and celebrated.
There will be a Sensory Friendly Space available on site. Please see the Accessibility Tab for more details.
April Pools Day
Time: 11:00am – 2:00pm
Location: Mesquite Aquatic Center, 100 W Mesquite St., Gilbert
Cost: free
Kick-off swim season and join us for April Pools Day on April 6th from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Mesquite Aquatic Center!
We are partnering with Gilbert Fire and Rescue to bring you a free, fun event where kids can learn about water safety and have a blast while doing it.
This early swim day will include:
- Games
- Local Vendors
- Music
- Food Trucks
Mesquite Aquatic Center is located at 100 W Mesquite St in Gilbert and features diving boards, water slides, play mushrooms, zero depth area, and a shade ramada. Public swim will officially open on May 25th for the summer season.
Friday, April 12
Gilbert Cinemas: Movies in the Park (Wonka)
Time: 6:30pm
Location: Gilbert Regional Park, 3005 E Queen Creek Road, Gilbert
Cost: free
Gilbert Cinemas are back for the Spring season! Come join for a fun, family-friendly movie night. Space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Outside food and drinks are allowed, or you can visit one of the food vendors onsite at the Gilbert Regional Park events.
Dogs are welcome, but must remain on a leash at all times. Don’t forget to pick up after your furry friend!
Monday, April 15
Women Empowered Book Club
Time: 11:30am – 1:00pm
Location: Peacock Wine & Book Bar 1525 N Gilbert Rd, C108
Cost: $10+cost of the book for Chamber members / $15+cost of the book for non-members
Join the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce for their Women Empowered Book Club! Come deep dive into this spring’s book selection while connecting with other professionals. The Book Club launches on Monday, April 15th and continues over the span of several weeks, meeting every Monday through May 20th. Come share your thoughts, network, and discuss ideas from the book.
The Book Club’s reading material was chosen and is being moderated by the Women Empowered Committee. The selected book for this spring is AT YOUR BEST by Carey Nieuwhof.
A limited menu will be available for attendees to purchase their own lunch and drinks from the host, Peacock Wine & Book Bar. As with the Fall Book Club, we are excited to share that the selected book is also available for purchase through this year’s Title Sponsor of the WE Book Club, Literally, A Bookshop. Chamber members receive a 10% discount on their purchase. You can also arrange to have your book delivered, or pick it up directly at the host location, Peacock Wine & Book Bar.

Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration, presented by ASR Construction Group
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Location: McQueen Park Activity Center, 510 N. Horne St, Gilbert
Cost: free
Join ASR Construction Group for their annual Earth & Arbor Day Celebration.
Learn valuable resources to create a happier, healthier, sustainable place to live. It’s not too late to make a positive impact on the world around us!

Badges and Bobbers
Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Location: Gilbert Regional Park, 3005 E Queen Creek Road, Gilbert
Cost: free*
Join the Gilbert Recreation Department for a free community fishing event featuring first responders from Gilbert’s Fire, Police, & Park Rangers as we partner with Arizona Game & Fish for a morning of fishing fun!
Learn proper casting and reeling techniques from the pros in a safe, friendly environment.
Fishing poles and tackle will be available to check out for those not bringing their own equipment. Bait and light snacks will be provided for those registered.
*Proof of fishing license is required for this event for any anglers aged 10 and older.

Tuesday, April 23
Chamber Connections – Social Hour
Time: 4:00pm – 5:30pm
Location: The Porch, 312 N. Gilbert Rd. Gilbert
Cost: $20 for Chamber members / $25 for non-members
Join the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce for drinks and conversation at their next social hour event. Get to know local professionals at this informal gathering while you share in discussions, build relationships, and learn more about businesses and services within our community! Price of admission includes appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages.
Bring a Door Prize! Donate a door prize of $25 or more and get a minute at the mic to introduce your business (members only).
